Heat up
Heating furnace: The steel rod is placed in the heating furnace, usually using a walking beam or push steel furnace, and the steel rod is heated to about 1200 degrees Celsius, so that it reaches a plastic state.
Primary rolling
Roughing mill: The heated steel rods are fed into the roughing mill for initial rolling,
De-scale
High-pressure water descaling: After rough rolling, high-pressure water jet is used to remove the oxide scale (scale skin) on the surface of the billet to ensure surface quality.
Finishing rolling
Finishing mill set: The billet is fed into the finishing mill set, usually consisting of a number of continuous rolling stands, which gradually roll the billet to the final desired thickness and width through multiple rolling. The rolling temperature and speed need to be precisely controlled in the rolling process to ensure the mechanical properties and surface quality of the product.
Cool
Cooling bed: The rolled steel plate is transferred to a cooling bed for controlled cooling.
Straighten
Straightening machine: The cooled steel plate is straightened by the straightening machine to ensure its flatness and plate shape accuracy.
